The Role

Working in the Pharmaceutical industry as a Business Manager you will lead a sales team in selling AstraZeneca’s brands across primary and secondary care within the Local Healthcare Economy. You will be completely responsible for running your region (P&L accountable) and managing a team of approximately 70 people. Direct reports are the Area Sales Managers (who manage teams of Medical Sales Reps) and the Integrated Healthcare Managers (who manage teams of Senior Hospital/PCT Account Managers) reporting directly to you. Working alongside other Business Managers and reporting directly to the Regional Sales Manager (East of England), you will lead your sales team in building strong customer relationships with prescribers and prescribing-influencers to exceed sales targets. You will continually improve business performance by identifying business opportunities and leading your sales team to maximise sales and market-share growth for AstraZeneca’s brands in the Local Healthcare Economy.

What we are looking for:

You must have previous management experience and be able to demonstrate a track record of success in leading a high performance sales team. You should be of graduate-calibre, able to develop and maintain high levels of therapeutic and NHS knowledge. You must be able to demonstrate ability in leading and developing a sales team, including running high quality recruitment and performance management processes. Previous experience in designing and implementing strategic level account plans is also important. Competitive and highly motivated, you will possess strong communication skills and a keen team work ethic. Ideally you will be ABPI qualified, but experience managing a team in the NHS or in other industries will also be considered. You should live on territory, have a full driving licence, and be eligible for employment in the UK.
